In breezy conditions England took the upperhand early on in the foursomes bout, claiming three of the matches to secure a winning margin before lunchtime.

With everything still to play for in the afternoon singles, Scotland started to rally early on in their singles campaign but failed to keep the momentum going. England fought back o claim all but one of the singles matches, won by Dalmahoy’s Tom Belnnerhassett by 1 hole against Chris Lloyd.

Elsewhere, Colin Baird, Andrew McLachlan and Ian Redford were unlucky to miss out by 1 hole in their matches, before England romped to a 9-1 singles victory.

Commenting on todays’s match SGU National Junior Coach Spencer Henderson said, “It was a disappointing way to end the season especially after taking a momentous win last year for the first time in nine attempts.

He added, “We will learn from this result and ensure our training over the winter months prepare us for the season ahead.”
