Sean Connery Settles Legal Battle with California Golf club

SIR SEAN CONNERY has reportedly settled a legal battle against a Californian golf club he accused of cashing in on his celebrity status.

 

The Edinburgh-born film star launched a £500,000 lawsuit against Sherwood Country Club last year after he claimed the exclusive club reneged on an agreement over image rights.

Sir Sean was invited to join the club near Los Angeles in 1990 in exchange for Sherwood using his image to promote the sale of luxury properties built nearby.

The actor quit the club in 2004 but claimed club bosses continued to use his image and refused to refund his membership fee as was agreed. Sherwood disputed Connery’s version of events and the case was due to be heard tomorrow .However, court officials were today said to have confirmed the case had been settled, with Sir Sean receiving a cash settlement.
