Commencing the afternoon round with a 4 hole lead, Stewart began his title ascent with a birdie at the first (19th) and winning the next with a par to extend his lead to 6up and it was only a matter of time before he lifted the coveted title of Scottish Boys Champion.

The West of Scotland Institute of Sport athlete, who heads for a golf scholarship at East Tennessee State University in August this year, has his sights set on the Stroke Play Championship hosted at Blairgowrie in July before he is bound for the US.

Next year’s event shall be hosted by Royal Aberdeen Golf Club.

Stewart now heads for the McEvoy Trophy this week along with his Quadrangular team mates, semi finalist David Law and Sam McLaren.
