The plus two handicap winner of the inaugural Seniors Order of Merit last year is among a strong line-up contesting this year’s 54 hole tournament, the first counting event in the SGU Seniors Order of Merit for 2008.

The evergreen and most capped Scottish golfer Charlie Green, the only player to have held the Stroke Play title over more than two consecutive years (from 1995-98) is a notable absentee from the line-up, which has been boosted by overseas entries from the US, United Arab Emirates, Sweden as well as competitors from Ireland and England.

The event commences on 20 – 22 May and the 137 competitors in the field will play one round on each of the first two days over the 6,449 yard par 69 course, with only the top 40 players plus ties contesting the last 18 holes in Thursday’s final.
