Kevin Ward leads after 2 rounds of NGA Hooters Orion Group Classic at Blackthorn Golf Club

Kevin Ward (Austin, TX) fired a course record tying 7-under par 65, over the 7136 yard, par 72 Blackthorn Golf Club, for a 36 hole total of 135, 9 under par, to take the Second Round lead in the Orion Group Golf Classic, benefitting the Life Treatment Centers.
Shawn Stefani (Baytown, TX) and Matt Harmon (Grand Rapids, MI) are one stroke back at 8-under par, 136 totals.
A handful of players are in with 36-hole totals of 7 under par 135.
Local Favorites Cole Isban and Adam Darrow both shot 2-under par 70’s for a 142 and 144 total respectively.
67 players survived the 36-hole cut, which fell at 1 over par, 145. Round Three tee times will begin at 7:30am Saturday.
The total purse for the Orion Group Golf Classic is $200,000 with $33,566 going to the winner.
