Chris Doak leads after the opening round of the Northern Open being held at the Dave Thomas designed Spey Valley Golf Course at Aviemore, Scotland.

Only 20 players out fo a total Northern Open field of 142 bettered the par of 72 and the 1st round leaderboard read as follows around the par 72 venue.
