Play golf and raise money for charity
Posted by under General, Latest Golf News
How would you like to raise money for charity by playing three rounds of golf in one day at three top courses, including one of the most prestigious in the world?
Golf Aid 2008 benefits Norwood, a leading UK charity that supports children and families with learning disabilities or coping with social difficulties. It will be held on Thursday, June 12, and features a round at Wentworth, which has hosted luminaries such as Tiger Woods, Ernie Els, Nick Faldo and annually hosts events such as the World Matchplay and the PGA Championship, as well as the Senior Masters.
After walking in the footsteps of these champions, fundraisers can then try their luck at two excellent Hertfordshire courses, The Grove and Moor Park. The Grove recently hosted the World Golf Championship, while Moor Park has hosted several national junior events.
All this, just in one day! And at the end of this gruelling challenge, participants can then enjoy a buffet dinner at Moor Park. The action gets underway at 6.00am.
“We’re calling for all golfing enthusiasts to turn out in their numbers,” said Ian Tate, Norwood’s Head of Challenges. “They will be fundraising for a fantastic cause, and the money they raise will help support the needs of children and families with learning disabilities or coping with social difficulties. It’s a beautiful route and places are still available for those who are interested.”
The registration fee is £150 per player, and the required minimum sponsorship is £2500 per player. Those interested in taking part should contact the Challenges team on 020 8420 6834 or challenges at norwood.org.uk, or visit norwood.org.uk/challenges
More information about Norwood’s services can be found on their website at norwood.org.uk.
