Curtis Cup Debutant Michele Thomson from Ellon Golf Club reaches final of 2008 Scottish Ladies Amateur Golf Championship

Red hot favourite Michele Thomson from the MacDonald Golf Club, Ellon, Aberdeenshire (pictured below) reached the final of this year’s Scottish Ladies Golf Championship after a very closely contested semi-final which went to the 20th hole against Laura Murray, Alford Golf Club.

In tomorrow’s final at Moray Golf Club, Thomson shall play Jocelyn Carthew of Ladybank who beat Kylie Walker of Buchanan Castle by the margin of 3&1 in the other semi-final.

Thomson is scheduled to make her debut in the Curtis Cup at St Andrews in the near future and is currently ranked in the top ten in Europe. Last year she was beaten at the 20th hole in the semi-final and this year will be looking to get her name on the trophy for the first time.
