Hazlehead player David Law wins 2nd SGU Junior Tour event at Moray Old course

Hazlehead player David Law is proving a force to be reckoned with, winning his second SGU Junior Tour event of the season, having already won the Whitekirk event.
The 17 year old coached by Neil Marr won the 4th event at Moray Old at the weekend, finishing 3 under after returning a 69 during his first round - matched only by two other players in the field, fellow Boys caps Andrew McLachlan and Sam McLaren – followed by a 70 to take prime position at the top of the leaderboard.
The semi finalist at the Scottish Boys Championship snagged two double bogeys during the day, both on par 4 holes (at the 3rd during his morning round, and his second at the 8th in the afternoon), but despite these blights a total of 8 birdies and an eagle buoyed him to the best total score of the day.
Bonnyton player Andrew McLachlan finished just one shot behind the North East player, on 2 under following his rounds of 71 and 69, with James Ross (Royal Burgess), who finished runner up to Law at the third Junior Tour event at Whitekirk earlier this month, taking third place returning 70 and 72 to finish level par.
East Renfrewshire’s Colin Thomson finished in fourth place (73, 70) on one over, with Kyle Smith, Adam Dunton and former U16’s Stroke Play Champion Sam McLaren sharing the spoils on 3 over to finish tied for 5th place.
