Bryant MacKellar leads Tommy Biershenk heading into 3rd round of Hooters Tour Kings Creek Golf Classic

Bryant MacKellar (Fairhope, AL) carded a three-under par 67 in the second round of The Kings Creek Golf Classic, over the 6807 yard, par 70, Kings Creek Golf Club, and now stands at twelve-under par 128.

MacKellar, a former SEC Champion from Auburn University, leads Tommy Biershenk (Boiling Springs, SC) by one stroke heading into Saturday’s third round. Biershenk, a five-time winner on the Hooters Tour, fired an eight-under par 62 Friday

Casey Crain (Carrierre, MS), Hank Kim (Jonesboro, GA), Ted Potter (Silver

Springs, FL), and Justin Smith (Franklin, PA) are another shot back after thirty-six holes, with ten-under par, 130 totals.

Brent Long (Carthage, TN) heads up the area hopefuls with a two day total of eight-under par 132, four strokes behind the tournament leader.

Sixty players survived the thirty-six-hole cut, which fell at three-under par 137.

Round Three will begin at 7:00am Saturday morning, with the leaders teeing off at 8:50am.

The total purse for the Kings Creek Golf Classic is $200,000 with $33,566 going to the winner.
