Germany’s Sean Einhaus moves into top 50 of R&A Mens World Amateur Golf Rankings

Sean Einhaus, Germany’s leading player in The R&A World Amateur Golf Ranking, has moved up nine places to No 50.  Winner of the Junior Orange Bowl in the United States last year, he finished tied for 11th in the Dixie Amateur in Florida in the first week of 2008.

R&A Mens World Amateur Golf Rankings: Joel Sjoholm of Sweden moves into top 10 following Ryo Ishikawa turning professional

There is only one change to the top 10 in The R&A World Amateur Golf Ranking, with Joel Sjoholm of Sweden moving up one place to 10th as 16-year-old Japanese player Ryo Ishikawa drops out of sixth place to join the pro ranks.

Rickie Fowler has held R&A World Amateur Golf Ranking Number 1 for 17 consecutive weeks

England´s Daniel Willett finishes 2007 season number 1 in European Golf Association rankings

The top three-placed men and ladies will be awarded EGA medal prizes at a formal gathering. Lady winners for 2007 will be awarded their medals in 2008 at the European Ladies’ Team Championship in Sweden. 

The top three ranked lady players for 2007 were:

1st Place: Sandra Gal (Germany) 315.00 points

2nd Place: Anna Nordqvist (Sweden) 282.50 points  

3rd Place: Carlota Ciganda (Spain) 277.50 points

Justin Rose rises to number 6 in latest golf world rankings

European number 1 Justin Rose (below) has climbed one place to sixth in the latest golf world rankings released on Monday. Rose returns to action this week at Tiger Woods’ Target World Challenge with Ernie Els next in his sights.

South African Els remains in fifth after a triple-bogey eight on the 18th hole cost him glory at the Alfred Dunhill Championship on Sunday.

Englishman Rose is joined in California by Open Champion Padraig Harrington, former winner Luke Donald and Woods himself.

Ryo Ishikawa of Japan continues his progress through the Ranking with a six-place jump into the top 10. He tied for 24th place in the Golf Nippon Series JT Cup at Tokyo Yomiuri Country Club on the professional Japan Golf Tour to move to sixth place.
