Andrew Wiltshire of Pontefract & District Golf Club has taken the early clubhouse lead at the 2010 English Mid-Amateur Golf Championship at Sherwood Forest Golf Club with a 36 hole aggregate score of +3, 143.

Wiltshire, who posted rounds of 71 and 72 in the very testing conditions, is one stroke ahead of a group of three players on +4, 144, which includes Rodrigo Lacerda Soares (71 & 73) of France, and Stephen East (70 & 74) of Moortown Golf Club.

Out on the course, Jamie Miller Fulford Golf Club is on +1 , John Kemp of John O'Gaunt Golf Club and Bruce Hilsdon of Littlestone Golf Clubthrough are on +2 through six holes, and no one appears to be pulling ahead of the field. As the way things stand, there is a good chance that +3 could be leading at the conclusion of 2nd round play.
