Matthew Southgate of England (pictured) romped to victory with a 72 hole aggregate score of -13, 275, at the 2010 St Andrews Links Trophy around the Old Course earlier today.

The Thorpe Hall Golf Club member carded a final round of -5, 67 to go with earlier rounds of 68, 70 and 70 to win by 5 strokes from Walker Cup player Stiggy Hodgson of Sunningdale, who finished on -8, 280, after rounds of 69, 71, 67 and 73 the same mark as Scottish Mens Internationalist Philip McLean of Peterhead Golf Club.

The Blue Toon golfer, winner of the 2010 Edward Trophy and a member of the N.E of Scotland team that won the SGU Mens Area Team Championships, carded rounds of 70, 70, 72 and 68.

In T4 place were English & British Boys Golf Champion Tom Lewis of Welwyn Garden City Golf Club, big hitting Jack Senior of Heysham Golf Club and former English Mens Amateur Golf Champion Todd Adcock of Nevil Golf Club.
