The 2011 West of England Open Amateur Stroke Play Championship at Saunton Golf Club on the  1-3 April, 2011, shall tee off the English Golf Union domestic season.

Last year, Laurie Canter of Saltford Golf Club won this event at Royal North Devon Golf Club (Aka "Westward Ho!") with a 72 hole aggregate score of -14, 274.

The 2010 South African Mens Open Amateur Golf Champion and winner of the 2010 Hampshire Hog Golf tournament, fired rounds of 66, 68, 72 and 68 to win by the comfortable margin of six shots. Canter, recently won the 2011 Spanish Mens Open Amateur Golf Championship.
