Andrew Dodt of Australia wins the European Tour Avantha Masters in New Delhi, India

Andrew Dodt of Australia fired a final round of -4, 68 to edge England's Richard Finch by one stroke to win the European Tour Avantha Mathers at the DFL Golf and Country Club in New Delhi, India at the weekend.

The Australian shall be a contender for the European Tour Shot of the Month for February 2010 with a fantastic sand save at the last. Dodt stiffed his downhill and down-grain bunker shot at the 72nd hole for a birdie four which enabled him to pip the fast finishing Englishman, who posted a last round of -6, 66.

It looked for a while as though Scotland's David Drysdale was going to secure his maiden tour win but a pair of late bogeys put paid to any hope he had of victory. Drysdale, along with Richard Bland and Barry Lane, will look back on this event and count the cost of missing very short putts coming down the home stretch.

Drysdale, was joined in the top-20 by fellow-Scots Steven O'Hara, Richie Ramsay and Peter Whiteford.
