GolfbloggerUK took the new Cleveland CG 265 Black Driver, with a 10.5 loft and regular shaft for a test drive at St Andrews, the Home of Golf
Cleveland CG Black 265 Driver Review/ Buyers Guide:-
The Cleveland CG Black 265 Driver has a a sleek and striking appearance, which is designed for golfers that have lost yardage and swing speed, and are looking to get their golf distance back. This is the perfect golf driver for developing or senior golfers who wish to swing the club - not the other way about whereby the driver dictates how you to swing it because it is far too heavy.
At 265 grams, the Cleveland CG Black 265 Driver is one of lightest teardrop-inspired drivers on the market. The reduced weight helps golfers generate more clubhead speed and added distance with the same golf swing effort. The Cleveland Speed Crown Design reduces drag at all angles to further maximise golfing distance. Cleveland's MaxCOR2 Variable Face Thickness Technology, that increases the trampoline effect on off-centre strikes, increases golf ball speed off the face of the club and makes the CG Black Driver more forgiving than your average drivers.
Another new golf feature on the Cleveland CG Black 265 Driver is a weight screw situated in the rear of the sole plate. This high-density screw positions the centre of gravity (COG) deeper and lower to promote a higher draw-biased and distance induced golf ball flight.
The 'engine' of the Cleveland CG Black 265 Driver is a Miyazaki C. Kua golf shaft and this is fitted with a Golf Pride Tour grip. The golf shaft weighs 39 grams and the golf grip weighs just 25 grams, which is approximately half as much as a standard golf grip. These light components helps decrease the golf driver's overall weight to produce the fastest golf swing speed possible.

With the proven lightweight performance found in premium Miyazaki graphite shafts and lightweight grips from Golf Pride and Lamkin, players can expect increases in swing speed with the same swing effort.
The center of gravity has been moved lower and deeper toward the back of the club head for higher launch angle with optimal spin and playability. Drivers and fairway woods now include a strategically positioned weight insert. These technologies help to maximize distance in all playing conditions.
CG Black drivers and fairway woods include Speed Crown Design, the most aerodynamic wood shape Cleveland Golf has ever engineered. A teardrop-inspired profile reduces drag at all angles of airflow during the swing for superior speed.
One of the lightest shafts in the world includes the premium construction, consistency and performance expected from Miyazaki, the worldwide leader in ultralite graphite shafts. More penetrating ball flight, increased spin and optimal distance control - along with superior feel.
