Corey Pavin led a star studded field at the Tristan Capital Partners Charity Golf Championship at Wentworth
Friday, 16 July 2010
USA Ryder Cup Captain Corey Pavin led a star studded field at the Tristan Capital Partners Charity Golf Championship at Wentworth today.

The event is one of the most prestigious corporate events in Europe played over the West, East and Executive courses at the illustrious Surrey club.
The event is in its 10th year and welcomes clients, guests and associates of Tristan Capital Partners, leaders in real estate investment management, including many famous sports stars, all making an appearance in aid of The Black Heart Foundation. Cricketers Kevin Pietersen, Paul Collingwood, Michael Vaughan and Sir Ian Botham were joined by Rugby stars Matt Dawson and Keith Wood, golfer David Howell and Olympic legend Sir Matthew Pinsent to play with Tristan’s key clients and associates.
The 2010 event raised in excess of £50,000 for the Black Heart Foundation, which supports a number of initiatives targeting underprivileged children and families in the UK and USA. “It has been another superb event, Corey has been a real star and it is great that we have been able to raise so much money for Black Heart” commented Ric Lewis, Chief Executive and Charman of Tristan Capital Partners.
The Eastside Young Leaders Academy (EYLA) is one of the main beneficiaries from the event. EYLA provides emotional and educational support for young African and Caribbean males who are at risk of social exclusion, offering them an opportunity to fulfil their potential and become the next generation of successful leaders.
“The EYLA really gives these guys a chance to better themselves and it is great to see the kids here today enjoying themselves” added Lewis. A group of boys who have won scholarships or places at University with the help of the EYLA were guests at the event and were treated to expert tuition from Corey Pavin and the team of professionals at Wentworth. “It has been a honour to be Chairman of this event and follow in the footsteps of fellow Ryder Cup Captains Seve Ballesteros, Sam Torrance, Ian Woosnam and Bernard Gallacher who have all chaired in the past. The camaraderie, fun and competition have been first class to today and I am delighted we have raised so much for such a great cause” commented Pavin.
The money was raised through a number of auction prizes, which have been donated by key sponsors of the event such as as Etihad Airways, Jose Cuervo, TaylorMade-Adidas Golf, Jo Malone, Audi, Lombard Odier and dunhill, as well as some of the guests playing in the event.
The main event was won by Sean Morris, the Chief Executive Officer of IPL team the Rajasthan Royals, with 35 points on the West and he became the proud owner of the Black Heart ‘Black Jacket’. Another highlight of the day was an after dinner floodlit par 3 challenge from the terrace at Wentworth to the 18th green on The East Course to mark the end of a fantastic day of golf and fund raising.
