Golf Scotland - Kinross Golf Club hosts SDGP Order of Merit Championship finals

The final event in the Scottish Disability Golf Partnership's, Order of Merit Championship for 2009 was held at Kinross's Bruce Golf Course on Monday 28 September. 
Players travelled from across Scotland to play the new layout of the course in fine weather and received a warm welcome from the players, club and its staff.
On the day, a special team event was played between coaches and disabled members and the winners with 64 points were Stevie Cunningham of Newton, Davey More of Edinburgh and John Murray of Glenrothes.
The SDGP's stableford winners on the day were 1st Place Bob Drysdale from Tayport 34 points, 2nd Steve Cunningham from Newton 34 points and David More of Edinburgh with 32. First Place coach was Peter Belcher from Edinburgh with 36 points.
John Gray an SDGP coach, said, "it was fine to come to Kinross again and to play in such good weather after the awful summer we have had. The Kinross staff always make us welcome and give us a good challenging course to play".
The SDGP's Order of Merit Championship 2009 top disabled players were;
1st Jim Gales of Springfield Fife 224 points
2nd Bob Drysdale of Tayport Fife 219
3rd Stevie Cunningham of Newton West Lothian 215
4th John Mccue of Renfrew with 210
5th Steve Bramwell of Johnstone 204
The SDGP's Order of Merit Championship 2009 top Coaches were;
1st Alan Bruce of Johnstone with 187
2nd Bill Dickman of Kinghorn Fife with 174
3rd Rob Steel of Glasgow 154
4th Peter Belcher of Edinburgh 130
5th Kenny McKay of Edinburgh with 112 points
The Presentation of prizes for the year will be at Balbirnie Park Golf Club on 5 October, which will be attended by the Lord Lt of Fife Margaret Dean and the Rt Hon John Lindsay-Bethune JP, former Captain of the R&A.
