John Kuntz of Golf Pro Girls was the lucky winner of the FlightScope Kudu that was given away Jan. 30 at the 2010 PGA Merchandise Show in Orlando, Florida

Registration to win the FlightScope, a premier portable indoor-outdoor ball-flight and launch monitor and the world's first-ever 3D
Doppler tracking radar for golf, started on Demo Day at the Orange County National Golf Center and Lodge and ran through mid-day Saturday at the PGA Merchandise Show in Orlando. Visitors who stopped by the FlightScope (www.flightscope.com.) booth were able to drop their business card off to be eligible for a chance to win.

When the time came for Henri Johnson, CEO of EDH, maker of FlightScope, to draw the lucky winner from the bulging bag full of business cards, it was Kuntz's name that was drawn. Since entrants didn't have to be present to win, Kuntz was called to let him know him of his good fortune.

"We were still walking around the PGA Show, when I listened to my phone message and found out I had won ... I was jacked," said Kuntz. "The great thing about the FlightScope is that I have six Golf Pro Girls in different locations around the country. And with the portable FlightScope, I can easily take it with me to help evaluate each of their swings wherever they are located."

Known for its ease of use as well as the precision and unmatched accuracy of its Phased Array 3D Doppler radar technology, FlightScope provides players with real-time tracking, instant results, while measuring ball speed, carry, vertical and horizontal launch angles, swing plane, club speed at impact and club head speed profile throughout the impact zone, as well as the sidespin, backspin and spin axis of the ball.

Launch monitor technology is a growing category in golf and products vary from simplified radar guns to sophisticated systems like FlightScope. Most launch monitors measure sidespin and calculate shot shape based on one foot of ball flight.  FlightScope measures shot shape directly providing real time, continuous ball speed, angles and flight path.

The FlightScope Kudu can be used for both outdoor and indoor applications. The hardware and software provide a cost-effective solution that can stand up to the best technology available today, without the price ticket. The FlightScope Kudu is connected to a PC using a USB communications cable and to a power outlet, or battery operated portable power outlet.

At the PGA Show, FlightScope released its latest model, Prime, that has all the features of the Kudu but is wireless/Bluetooth, with a four-hour stand-alone battery.
