20 year-old Rory McIlroy of Northern Ireland is back into the world's top-ten after victory yesterday at the PGA Tour Quail Hollow Championship with a final round course record of -10, 62.

The Ulsterman, who turns 21 on Tuesday, enjoyed a blistering round, capped by a 45 foot birdie putt on the 72nd hole, to win by four shots from 2010 US Masters Champion Phil Mickelson.

The victory moved McIlroy up 4 places from 13th to 9th in the latest Official World Golf Ranking.

Mickelson's second place finish gives him an opportunity to take the World Number One spot at this week's PGA Tour Player's Championship if he can win and Tiger Woods finishes outside the Top 5.
