Russell Knox of Scotland is now a full-fledged member of the Nationwide Tour
Monday, 18 April 2011
In the span of a week, Russell Knox of Scotland went from NGA/Hooters Tour member to a full-fledged member of the Nationwide Tour.

Knox, a two-time NGA/Hooters Tour winner, finished eagle-birdie to Monday Qualify for the Nationwide Tour event and then fired rounds of 65-68-66 in the first three rounds of the Fresh Express Classic to get to T2. And after the final round was canceled due to fog, Knox was credited with a T2 finish, moving him to 11th on the money list and gaining him Nationwide Tour status.
While he’s undoubtedly happy about gaining status, Knox appeared to be in good position to pick up his first Nationwide Tour win as he pulled even with leader Daniel Chopra in the final round before fog foiled his bid for the win.
Last season Knox earned a Nationwide Tour exemption through the NGA/Hooters Tour and promptly posted a T7 finish in the Knoxville Open. The T7 finish was his best effort on the Nationwide Tour before his T2 effort this week. Knox finished at 11-under par and one shot behind Daniel Chopra.
