Scottish Disability Golf Partnership final event of 2009 golf season held at Balbirnie Park Golf Club

The final event in the Scottish Disability Golf Partnership's 2009 season, was held at the prestigious Balbirnie Park Golf Club, Markinch in Fife, on Monday 5 October. 
On the day, a special team event was played between coaches and disabled members and the winners with 66 points were Steve Bramwell and Alan Bruce of Johnstone and Willie McEwan of Glenrothes.
The SDGP's winners on the day were, Bob Drysdale of Tayport 35, Fraser Paterson of Edinburgh 34, Steve Bramwell of Johnstone 34, John Mccue of Renfrew 33 and William McEwan of Glenrothes 32.
The winning SDGP Coaches for their 2009 Championship were Alan Bruce of Johnstone 34, Stewart Copeland of Glasgow 33, Rob Steel of Glasgow 31, Peter Stott of Glenrothes 31 and Kenny McKay of Edinburgh 29.
Jim Gales the SDGP Chairman said, "It was great to play on such a great course to finish off our season and to have our long-term supporters like the Lord Lt of Fife Margaret Dean and the Rt Hon John Lindsay-bethune JP, former Captain of the R&A there to present the prizes for the day and the whole season, was great".
The SDGP already has a 3-day Open Championship and a 2-day Scottish Championship planned for the 2010 season, as well as their regular training days and Order of Merit Championship events.
Steve Bramwell, the SDGP Secretary said, "We have more than doubled the number of members we support since the start of this season and with new events plannned for next season, we can easily cope with more players and would encourage beginners to the sport to come to one of our training sessions."
The Scottish Order of Merit Championship 2009 top disabled players were;
1st Jim Gales of Springfield Fife 224 points
2nd Bob Drysdale of Tayport Fife 219
3rd Stevie Cunningham of Newton West Lothian 215
4th John Mccue of Renfrew with 210
5th Steve Bramwell of Johnstone 204
The Scottish Order of Merit Championship 2009 top Coaches were;
1st Alan Bruce of Johnstone with 187
2nd Bill Dickman of Kinghorn Fife with 174
3rd Rob Steel of Glasgow 154
4th Peter Belcher of Edinburgh 130
5th Kenny McKay of Edinburgh with 112 points
