Former Major League Baseball Pitcher Greg Maddux, and Butch Harmon, voted the World’s Best Golf Instructor in a Golf Digest poll for the past 10 years, teamed up to Help Las Vegas organizations.

Since 2001, the Greg Maddux Foundation and Harmon has worked hard, and quietly raised funds and awareness for several worthy Las Vegas charities. They have teamed up to hold the Maddux/Harmon Celebrity Invitational that brings world class athletes and entertainers to Las Vegas. The benefit has now raised well more than $1 million.

The charity benefactors in 2010 are the Boys and Girls Clubs, Candlelighters for Childhood Cancer, and Child Haven.

The Maddux/Harmon Celebrity Invitational was played at Spanish Trail Golf and Country Club, and a special evening event was held at The Venetian. The event took place October 23-25, 2010. Celebrities and athletes who participated included Nick Watney, Jim McMahon, Reggie Jackson, Rollie Fingers, Albert Pujols, Willie Gault and many others.

Maddux racked up 355 wins in his 23 year career with a 3.16 era, 3371 strikeouts, 4 consecutive Cy Young Awards, a MLB record 18 Gold Glove Awards (13 consecutive), 8 All-Star appearances, a World Series Championship and in 2004 became the only pitcher in Major League Baseball history to ever win at least 15 games for 17 consecutive seasons.

Harmon is the #1 Golf Instructor in the World and works with golf stars Nick Watney, Phil Mickelson, Natalie Gulbis and Dustin Johnson.
