Titleist golf ball loyalists lifted trophies around the world this weekend, led by Pro V1x loyalists Paul Lawrie and Martin Laird who claimed their first titles of the season on the European and PGA Tours respectively.

Paul Lawrie prevailed in an all-Titleist 1-2-3 on the European Tour, whilst Laird, having held a two shot lead going into the final round of the Arnold Palmer Invitational, finished with two birdies in his final four holes to edge fellow Titleist golf ball loyalist Steve Marino (New Pro V1x) by one stroke. The Scottish duo were joined by Titleist golf ball loyalists around the world who made it another multiple win weekend for the legendary Pro V1 franchise.
On the European Tour, former Open Champion and Pro V1x loyalist Paul Lawrie claimed his first title since 2002 with a one stroke victory at the Open de Andalucía. Firing a level par final round, 70, Lawrie lifted the title by one stroke ahead of a top-10 littered with Titleist golf ball players. Pro V1x loyalist Johan Edfors closed with a 2-under par 68 to finish alone in second, one stroke ahead of Felipe Aguilar (New Pro V1x) who completed the all-Titleist top-three. The spin control and feel of the Pro V1 also ensured Titleist was the most played ball in Spain, with 86 players; more than four times the nearest competitor with 19. Titleist was also first in iron sets, and pitching, sand, lob and approach wedges respectively.
Laird’s victory is the twelfth for Titleist golf ball players in the first fourteen tournaments of the 2011 PGA Tour season and sees the Scot become the first European winner at Bay Hill in the event’s 33-year history. Joining Laird and Marino towards the top of the leaderboard in Florida were Titleist Brand Ambassador Marc Leishman (New Pro V1x) and Pro V1 loyalist David Toms, who finished alongside one other in a tie for third place. Titleist was also the overwhelming golf ball of choice at the Arnold Palmer Invitational with 75 players, more than five times the nearest competitor with 13. The feel and precision of Titleist equipment also saw Titleist top the counts for iron sets, sand, lob and approach wedges and putters respectively.
Elsewhere, on the Nationwide Tour Titleist Brand Ambassador Brett Wetterich claimed the Chitimacha Louisiana Open in his first tournament playing the New Pro V1x. Wetterich fired a final round 2-under par 69 to claim victory by one stroke. On the Asian Tour, Titleist Brand Ambassador Kiradech Aphibarnrat (New Pro V1x) topped an all-Titleist top four to capture the season opening SAIL Open in New Delhi after firing a final round 4-under par. On the Oneasia Tour, Titleist golf ball loyalist Andre Stolz (New Pro V1x) also topped an all-Titleist top four after he birdied his final two holes to claim the Indonesia PGA Championship. On the Canadian Tour, Adam Hadwin (Pro V1x) fired four rounds in the 60’s to claim the Pacific Colombia Tour Championship by six shots with a 25-under par total. These multiple wins across worldwide professional tours boost Titleist’s 2011 worldwide golf ball win count to 30, compared to 6 for the nearest competitor.
A first title since 2002 for Pro V1x loyalist Paul Lawrie, coupled with a second PGA Tour victory for Martin Laird and a host of victories around the world for Titleist golf ball players, continues to prove that the world’s best players opt for the matchless performance of Titleist for their success.
