Scottish Golf Flag

Players and their coaches from across Scotland including Edinburgh, Aberdeen, Glasgow, Fife and Perthshire, took on the tight fairways and windy and sometimes wet, conditions as they approached the halfway point in the Scottish Disability Golf Partnerships 2009 season.

Robin Harper MSP attended and helped out one of the vision impaired players to play and even played a few holes himself with the assistance of some local knowledge from various SDGP players, which includes Those with learning disabilities, the blind amputees, the deaf, and others with serious health problems.

Results from Scotscraig, which was sponsored by the golf club and www.golfblogger.co.uk

1st SDGP player with 37 points was Jim Gales of Springfield

2nd SDGP player was Bob Drysdale of Tayport with 33 points

1st SDGP Coach was Stuart Copeland of Glasgow with 24 points and

2nd SDGP Coach was Bill Dickman of Kinghorn.

The overall winning team consisted of Jim Gales, Springfield, Paul Shepherd of Tayport, John McCue and Stuart Tallach of Renfrew. A special prize was awarded to Liam Hall (aged 11) of Springfield who completed his first round at this Open qualifier with a very respectable score.
